Volleyball Player Fifi Sharma Clarifies Friendship with Kai Sotto on Talk Show

Volleyball athletes Fifi Sharma and Jia Morado-De Guzman appeared as guests on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" this Monday. During the interview, host Boy Abunda inquired about Fifi's relationship status with basketball player Kai Sotto. Sharma promptly clarified that they were never romantically involved, stating, "Hindi po." When questioned if Kai ever courted her, Fifi responded, "Friends lang po kami 'non," highlighting that Kai is a "very nice" individual.

The former De La Salle University Lady Spikers standout revealed that it has been over a year since they last spoke. She explained their acquaintance originated through their fathers, who were previously acquainted and shared a mutual interest in volleyball, which helped them connect. "Magkakilala na din po kasi 'yung dad namin before. He's also a fan of volleyball so doon kami medyo nag-connect. Tapos 'yon, we were just really friends," Fifi shared.

As for Kai Sotto, currently playing for the Koshigaya Alpha in Japan's B-League, he is in a relationship with actress Rere Madrid. The pair celebrated their first anniversary in May and made a joint appearance at the GMA Gala 2025 in August.

Fifi Sharma continues her professional volleyball career with the Akari Chargers in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) and is also an active member of the Philippine women’s national volleyball team.
