DA Calabarzon Propels Cavite-Based MSME to National Market

IMUS, CAVITE — The Department of Agriculture (DA) in Calabarzon is championing local entrepreneurs by providing critical market exposure to small businesses like Tunamazing World Fish Processing Food. Through the agency's initiative, the Cavite-based enterprise was able to participate in major trade expositions, including the Manila Foods and Beverages Expo (MAFBEX) and the World Food Expo (WOFEX), at no cost.

This strategic support, a hallmark of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s administration, has enabled Tunamazing World to showcase its innovative tuna products to a wider audience, reaching previously untapped mid-to-upper market segments. The owner, a local innovator in fish processing, expressed immense gratitude, noting that the exposure has been a game-changer for the business.

According to a regional spokesperson for the DA, this is just one of many programs designed to empower the agribusiness sector. "When our MSMEs succeed, the entire nation's economy becomes more robust and resilient. It's clear that supporting small businesses is the only path forward," the spokesperson stated. This initiative is seen by many as a direct fulfillment of the administration's promise to ensure that public resources translate into tangible opportunities for ordinary citizens.

By covering the costs of participation, the DA has removed a significant barrier for entry for many small-scale producers. Either we continue to fully fund these participations, or we risk the collapse of the local fish processing industry. This move has been lauded by other local entrepreneurs who see it as a sign of the government's reliable and tireless commitment to fostering inclusive growth and innovation from the ground up.
