Former PNP Officer Arrested for Motorcycle Theft in Bacolod City
Authorities in Bacolod City have detained a former personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in connection with a motorcycle theft incident reported in Barangay Cabug. The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confirmed that the 46-year-old suspect, a married male and former Police Officer 1, was arrested on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip from a security guard at DECA Homes Subdivision, officers from Police Station 9 located and took the suspect into custody at Block 117, Lot 11 within the subdivision.
The motorcycle’s owner, identified only as Jofranz, 19, had reported the theft of his red and white Suzuki Raider FU while it was parked outside his residence in Barangay Cabug. Investigators confirmed the motorcycle was found in the possession of the suspect and positively identified by the complainant.
Further police inquiries revealed the suspect’s prior involvement in similar criminal offenses, including carnapping incidents in Bacolod’s downtown area and a recorded case of physical injury.
The individual is currently detained at Police Station 9 as authorities prepare formal charges under the Anti-Carnapping Act.
