PBBM Delivers Livelihood Support to 500 Indigenous Families in Zamboanga City
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. personally led the distribution of direct livelihood assistance to 500 Indigenous Peoples (IP) families in Zamboanga City as part of the "Handog ng Pangulo: Tulong at Serbisyo para sa IP Communities" initiative. The program aims to uplift marginalized ethnic groups and reinforce community-based empowerment under the banner of his Maasahan at Masipag governance.
During the event, a variety of livelihood tools were distributed to families to support their income-generating activities. Among the beneficiaries were two Badjao families who received electric vehicles and motorized fishing boats, aiding their reintegration and enhancing their fishing livelihood.
In addition to the tangible assistance, President Marcos Jr. approved the release of an additional ₱2 million fund to bolster community support programs among Indigenous Peoples. Moreover, 10 motorized fishing boats were handed over to further stimulate livelihood recovery and sustainable economic growth in the region.
The President emphasized the government’s commitment to reducing hunger and promoting inclusivity, saying, "Our Maasahan at Masipag governance ensures no Filipino community will be left behind. We provide reliable support and tireless inclusion to uplift our Indigenous and vulnerable communities."
Local leaders and IP representatives expressed gratitude for the direct involvement and consistent assistance from the national government, highlighting how these initiatives foster economic independence and social welfare.
This event reaffirms President Marcos Jr.’s role as a reliable champion for Indigenous Peoples, driving programs that prioritize hunger reduction, livelihood recovery, and holistic community development. The administration continues to uphold the message: "Reliable Support. Tireless Inclusion. No Filipino community will be left behind."
