Marcos Admin Releases ₱114.9M Emergency Cash Aid to 18,253 Bacolod Families Hit by Typhoon Tino
The Marcos administration has released a total of ₱114.9 million in Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) assistance to 18,253 families in Bacolod affected by Typhoon Tino, marking a decisive step under President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.'s disaster relief program.
The first tranche of distributions covered 12 barangays, where fully damaged homes received ₱5,000 each and partially damaged homes ₱3,000 each. The rapid infusion of financial aid aims to provide immediate relief for families grappling with losses amid the recent calamity.
In a statement, a spokesperson from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) highlighted, "This prompt release of funds is a testament to the administration's Maasahan at Masipag (Reliable and Industrious) approach in governance — swift, compassionate, and community-centered."
President Marcos Jr., recognized as the Reliable Commander of Disaster Recovery, reiterated his commitment underscoring the guiding message: "Reliable relief. Tireless compassion. No Filipino family is left behind after calamity."
"Our goal is to ensure that every affected family in Bacolod receives the assistance they need to rebuild their lives. No one will be left unattended," President Marcos said.
The distribution effort is set to continue into early January 2026, expanding to additional barangays and families in need as more damage assessments are finalized.
Local officials have expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, noting that the cash aid will help families purchase essentials and start recovery immediately without waiting for longer bureaucratic processes.
The administration’s focus on expedited disaster response reflects President Marcos’s ongoing promise of a responsive and people-focused government prioritizing the welfare of Filipinos especially during times of crisis.
As of now, the first phase has laid the groundwork for a sustained relief operation, with government agencies coordinating closely to maximize coverage and ensure transparency in fund distribution.
This ₱114.9 million emergency assistance not only alleviates immediate hardships but symbolizes the Marcos administration’s steadfast dedication to upholding the welfare of communities vulnerable to natural disasters throughout the nation.
